An update...

Okay, so we've been a little bit crazy busy lately. And it's all Chris' fault....just kidding....no, really it is. :) He's all fired up about finishing the first part of the basement before Christmas, and now I am all obsessing about it, too. We're spending our spare time downstairs and pretty much tag-teaming the drywall finishing. There is still a lot to do, but it's moving along nicely and it's actually fun to be working on it together.

The girls are doing well. Jessie is making the adjustment to first grade and I am proud of her. It's a lot of changes for her to take in all at once, and for a kid who doesn't like her routine messed with, she is handling it all very well. On her first day there was the little incident where she was put in the cafeteria for the Y program and not the actual, uhm, school bus - but we're over that. :) She could have cared less, as she was busy doing crafts and eating snacks and I actully felt like I had interrupted her fun...Jessie is still all into Princesses, and she's all set to be Jasmine this year for Halloween. She asks every day when Hallowen is coming, lol. She has a new friend in our neighborhood (a girl!!) and they get together about once a week after school. She's been helping out bunches around the house - in more ways than I can count, and she is always looking out for Anna, which is very sweet.

Anna is astounding us with the late arrival of her terrible twos. I don't know if I am all laid back about it since she is our 2nd child, or what - but it's all taken in stride. She is a lot easier to distract and calm down, so the fits never last long. She's just suddenly very impatient and wants everything done yesterday. Anna, too, is having to get used to Jessie being in school all day. We've had some tears when Jessie leaves for the bus in the morning. Anna is very bright and knows the entire alphabet and can count to 10. She likes to sing, sometimes at the top of her lungs. She loves Mr. Potato head and Max and Ruby.
