Last batch...

This is what happens when the quiet one gets ahold of a microphone.
He does not let go.

Jim's turn with Anna and the hats.

Chris, laughing at Laura's advice on how to soothe a crying baby.

The last of the hats, and an action shot at that.

Wes and Laura's Party....

To celebrate nothing but friends getting together, and quite possibly the merits of Sangria, on Saturday the 21st. A good time was had by all, and here's the photographic evidence. ... Laura, looking at digital pictures on the teeny tiny screen (the outtake showed a very annoyed looking Laura, complaining about said screen).

This is Jim. He is very expressive. But we adore him.

More Jim!

Me and Chris.

Look what just showed up here...

See, here's what you do. Having a bad day? Tell yourself, "Hey. It could be worse, I could have THAT in my backyard." 36 year old septic system. Out. Soon.

Finished!

This is the first blanket I have finished. (the first picture is a little sucky, but...doesn't Anna have cute feet?) Anywho...this was made for my co-worker who has a baby boy due on November 27th. It's basically a big Granny sqaure, with 3 rows or double crochet around. I used Bernat baby sport weight yarn and a size G hook. This photo came out a little bit better, although I am wishing I'd taken a close up of it. Iloved the yarn, though, so I think I will use it again. The colors were just so sweet to work with.

Monday suprises

This was part of the view outside my picture window early Monday morning. For some reason, I think I have seen this balloon before - my first thought was the Zirpolo's, but I think I am wrong.

My father-in-law's friend, Theresa, has beautified our yard with flowers. The bees are loving this one, and especially the butterflies.

Karabin Farms

On Sunday we took advantage of the weather and brought Jessica and Anneliese to Karabin Farms to pick apples. This is our first time ever doing this and it was totally worth it. The ride to the picking area was in a big wagon hitched to a tractor and the girls loved it. We picked just over a pound of apples: Empire, Galas, and Jonathans. Sunday evening I made apple pie, and caramel covered apples. My two unwilling subjects.

Jessie, basically not cooperating, lol!

Anna kept picking apples off the ground and sneaking them into the basket.

There were several cats roaming around the property. This one was the youngest. The Mom cat was there also and she was a white calico with brown and black spots. She was pretty tiny, too and looked like a peanut butter cup.

What we do on the weekends...

Our weekends over the past few months have been spent working on the basement. What we've done so far: ripped out the paneling, a closet, and the old lights. We added a huge new closet, moved the laundry room doorway, changed the light fixtures, painted, and framed in the ductwork, and added a little bit of dropped ceiling (in the craft area). Just yesterday the carpets were installed. First picture, obviously, is the stairwell. It's never been carpeted, so it keeps suprising me when I open the door! It's been a lot of work, but very rewarding. I am so thankful to have to extra space. It really feels like home now.

This is the view from the future office doorway. To the left is the craft area and the new closet. The rest of the room will be a family room and playroom.

My stampin' and scrappin' corner. And temporary office.

This is the view from where the TV will be. In the back (where there's a hole in the wall) will go some french doors. Once we're all moved in to this part, that room will become the music room (where Chris can keep his instruments) and an office. Posted by Picasa

Sunset...

Seriously. How pretty is that? I took this picture at the end of my driveway on Friday 10/6.
